Joe Giordano, Owner of Consulting, Training, and Development Services has over thirty (30) years experience in the human resources and leadership development arenas. His vast experience includes a twenty (20) year career as a Personnel Administrator and Training Supervisor with the United States Army; five (5) years as the Human Resources Administrator for the Wicomico County Department of Social Services; two (2) years as an Employment Specialist with K&L Microwave; and six (6) years as owner of Consulting, Training, and Development Services. His areas of expertise include leadership skills development; human resources based training and consulting, workplace harassment and discrimination awareness training and investigations, and job readiness instruction.
Joe’s military career included nominative assignments to NATO and the United States Military Academy. Highlights included coordinating security for the hostages upon their return from Iran and visit to the US Military Academy in 1981 and developing numerous leadership and management training programs to provide career progression skills for participants.
While with the Wicomico County Department of Social Services Joe was responsible for the design, implementation, and oversight of the Welfare to Work Program. One of his major accomplishments was the establishment and growth of the Salisbury Job Center which provided job readiness and vocational skills training to prepare individuals to enter the workforce. The Salisbury Job Center had the lowest cost per placement ratio of all the twenty four (24) Department of Social Services within the State of Maryland while under Joe’s supervision.
While with K&L Microwave Joe established three (3) separate internship programs with the local high school career and technology center for machine operators, electronics students, and computer aided design (CAD) students.
Joe currently serves as a member of the Salisbury Area Chamber of Commerce Foundation Board of Directors and is the Chairperson of the Grants Committee for the Foundation. He has previously served as a board member of the Wicomico Partnership for Families and Children where he was Chairperson of the Children Ready to Enter School Committee and a member of the Youth Employment Committee. Other community involvement includes being a past member of the Regional Transportation Steering Committee (Shore Transit), Past Co-Chairperson of the Lower Shore Manufacturing Network Human Resources Roundtable, and the Career Connections board where he served as Chairperson of the Business and Education Committee
Joe has a Bachelor of Science Degree in Business Administration from the University of the State of New York and a Masters Degree in Public Administration with a Human Resources Management Specialization from the John Jay College of Criminal Justice.
