CHAMBER FOUNDATION WORKFORCE DEVELOPMENT PROGRAMS AND PROJECTS YOUTH/ADULT (Ages 17 and Above) EMPLOYMENT TRAINING
Construction Skills Training Program - The Lower Shore Workforce Alliance requested the Chamber Foundation to develop and conduct a construction skills program and agreed to fund a total of four (4) participants. This course was conducted in October and November of 2009 with two (2) participants, both of whom completed the training.
Drywall/Painting Pre Apprenticeship Training Program – The Chamber Foundation has been approved by both the local Workforce Investment Board and the Maryland Higher Education Commission to conduct pre apprenticeship training in Drywall and Painting. The first class was held in the January – March 2011 time frame. Eight (8) participants were enrolled, with seven (7) completing the Drywall training and five (5) completing both the Drywall and Painting Training. To date three (3) graduates have been placed into full time employment with benefits.
